Information :
LI'L
SHOCKER was built in 1970 by Ken and Del Lee at Mortdale
in Sydney assisted by Col Parry. It was originally fitted
with an early Holden (FJ) grey side plate motor. In 1972
this motor was fitted with a Repco Hypower cross flow
head and three Weber Carburettors (45dcoe).It was a very
successful boat in the 155ci class.
In
1978 the boat was sold to Kel Toms and called BEWITCHED.
Kel then fitted a 170ci Ford Falcon motor and raced it
for a number of years.
Approximately
1982 the boat was then sold to Greg Leth who competed
quite successfully in this current from.In 1986 John King,
of Deepwater Motor Boat Club (NSW Australia) then bought
the boat and replaced the engine with an XW Falcon 221
cu in motor and raced it. It was next sold to Peter Crawford
in 1989, who was a member of the same club.He raced it
with no major modifications.
In
a rather poor state of dis-repair,Col Parry bought the
boat in 1991, and renamed her BUMBLEFOOT. Sponsons, bottom
timbers and some frames were replaced and full refit and
painting was undertaken. The 221 cu in Falcon motor was
raced by Col and Kevin (Col's son) very successfully winning
three State Titles and many Club Day races at numerous
Clubs.
Five
years later (1996) the head on the motor cracked. Col
and Kevin decided to install a 3.3 litre (200 cu in) XF
Falcon crossflow motor with the triple Webers. Although
smaller in capacity the engine was found to go even better.
The
boat was then bought by Paul and Barry Jackson in 1998
and re-sprayed and renamed LI'L SHOCKER ,after Barry's
old drag car OCKER'S SHOCKER.
Paul
has continued with the boat's winning ways and some of
his accomplishments include:
QLD Unlimited Hydroplane State Championships 2nd 1997,3rd
1998,3rd 1999,3rd 2000,(not held in 2001).
Ernie Nunn Shield -Club Champion (SQPBC) 1997,1999,2000

Paul
is very much looking forward to the Nostalgia Cup at Taree
at Easter 2002.He is aiming for 1st place this year, with
recent engine developments proving the boat to be even
faster. So all other competitors better keep one on Li'l
Shocker.
